Microsoft is currently working on its next generation operating system, Windows 10. They recently had an event to show what Windows 10 will be like. During the event, they announced their new "HoloLens", which is a visor that goes on your face, and allows you to see holographic objects. This means you will be able to watch TV, use Skype, or play Minecraft all on a small device. They also showed us a 84-inch touchscreen monitor called the "Surface Hub" that works in a way like a SmartBoard, but way better. It has a heavily modified version of Windows 10 on it, and it has 4K resolution.
The actual operating system is like the Windows 7 of Windows 8, since Windows 8 got a bed reputation. Although, this operating system will be a big step forward. Microsoft added the old Windows 7 Start Menu back, and their personal assistant "Cortana" is integrated to it. Metro apps will now be able to be opened up in a window, just like any old desktop programs. A new browser code-named Project "Sparta" with Cortana integrated is also in progress, which will replace Internet Explorer. Xbox games will also be able to be played trough Windows. In terms of Windows Phone, a version of Windows 10 will be available for it. And best of all, Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 users for the first year after its release.
